Tomorrow, Feb. 21, there are budget appropriations meetings in Hartford that will affect the funding for magnet schools in the year to come.  You can attend os submit a written comment, of course, but you can also fill out a short form describing how your magnet school has changed your student's life:

Amazon Smile just sent the PTO $31 for doing absolutely nothing.  Some of our families are using Amazon with the PTO registered as their nonprofit.  It's easy and it costs nothing.

Go to smile.amazon.com and sign up to support "Esums Pto."  You do it once, and it remembers forever.  Spread the word -- grandparents, coworkers, and total strangers can do this too!  

Another Fundraiser

Greetings ESUMS parents,
We will again be holding a Mixed Bag Designs fundraiser.  The sales can begin immediately and will close on March 3.  This will give you plenty of time to view the online catalogs and sell to family and friends during the February break.  This is a win-win fundraiser in that the school will profit 40% from all sales and you will be purchasing items that can be reused for years.  The bags are very sturdy and excellent for shopping, travel, the beach and more.                                                       
Please don't hesitate to reply with any questions you might have. 
I have attached the order form and website information.  If you wish to have a catalog packet please let me know and I will send one home with your child.
Please do not include Tax or Shipping fees if you are sending the order w/payment to school for us to process!

Thank you for participating - funds raised help offset the cost of bus fees for some field trips!

Every year World Read Aloud Day calls global attention to the importance of reading aloud and sharing stories.
