Deadline to Register for Yale Pier Language Program is Oct. 6

The program is free to students who attend a New Haven public school.  Languages offered are Arabic, Dutch, German, Italian, Japanese, KiSwahili, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Urdu.

Event description: 
Sprout is a three-week program held on Saturdays. Yale students teach classes on a large range of topics to students in the 7th through 12th grades. Classes will be offered in four time blocks. Core classes meet all three weeks of the program and electives meet just once. Choose whichever classes interest you, from a catalog of classes all taught by Yale students! The three weeks of this program give students a chance to delve deeper into certain topics. AS such, attendance at all three weeks of the program is mandatory. If you are unable to attend all program dates, please consider attending Yale Splash, our one-day program.
Dates for Yale Sprout this semester are October 3, October 10, and October 17.  Cost is $30 plus $5 for each Saturday lunch. Full financial aid is available.

Event description: 
Science on Saturdays is an award-winning lecture series that features scientists whose passion for their work inspires us all. Each event involves a lecture by a Yale professor and engaging science demonstrations by Yale college students. Science on Saturdays provides an opportunity for Yale scientists and residents of New Haven and beyond to come together over a shared sense of wonder. Join us this week for an engaging talk about “Cells on the Move” by Prof. Jack Harris.
Yale Scientific Magazine’s /Synapse/ will lead fun demonstrations from 10am - 11am and the talk will take place from 11am - noon. Science on Saturdays is hosted by Professor Kurt Zilm.
Directions & Parking: Sterling Chemistry Lab is the building on the left of the driveway at 225 Prospect. Parking will be available on the street along Prospect and at the Yale Whale Ice Rink.

Summer Job Opportunity (Over 18)

We are in need of Female night time Resident Counselors and day time staff members. You should be have warm and lovely energy, energetic, artys, fun loving and a people person. The camp is located in New Haven. We are looking for 18 years and older and experience working with teens in high school or summer camp settings. Our students are from 19 different countries here in America learning english for the summer. If you want to go to the beach, stroll the mall, teach a workshop(your skill set), play soccer or tutor kids in english and make some money this is the gig for you. A Message from the English Department: ESUMS Big Read

Greetings!  As the end of another year at ESUMS is coming to a close, we are already looking to the next. Please see the attached information about the ESUMS high school summer reading. This year we have selected a single book from the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Program. A Big Read is a single text that is read across an entire school or community. The purpose is to provide young people with engaging books that allow for conversations about identity and diversity.  This year's book is Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.
