You are invited to attend:
NHPS Citywide Parents: Empowering Parents!
You are cordially invited to join our next monthly meeting where we will focus on empowering parents/caregivers to work together and help achieve positive transformation in New Haven.
We will hear from a few parent groups that successfully achieved change in the past to hear their tips and tricks. Then, working groups, we will begin by highlighting three main areas that parents brought to our attention last year:
1. Need for safe buses with bus monitors
2. More nurses and improved healthcare options in schools
3. Increased presence of restorative justice practices throughout district
Using an action guide template, we will discuss how parents/caregivers can begin to identify possible solutions and how to work with the district and local officials to support and bring change. In fact, many of our local officials will be present!
Please note that Speaker's Corner will not be held this month to allow for more discussion time for groups. Please feel free to submit any flyers you would like to share, or simply bring them to meeting to disburse at tables.
