The goal of this New Haven Town Hall Meeting is to engage the community in the future development of New Haven Public Schools.
As the district prepares for Superintendent Garth Harries' exit in November, who will lead our children's education and future in the interim? What are the legal requirements for the placement of the Interim? And what are the responsibilities of the Interim Superintendent versus the permanent Superintendent? To learn the answers to these questions - and many more! - we are bringing the community together.
During this Town Hall Meeting, we will also be asking equally important questions from the community - specifically:
- What do you believe is working well within our school system?
- What improvements or changes do you hope to see in the near and distance future?
- What expectations do you have of the Superintendent?
- What expectations do you have of the Board of Education?
A short-survey will be sent to all registered participants, and the community at large, to collect feedback and provide participants an opportunity to submit questions before-hand. During event, audience will be invited to ask questions at end of each segment.
Transportation is available! Buses will be provided from three area schools, based on registered participants needs. Bus times and locations will be published one-week before event.
Email: NHPSParents@gmail.com to request transportation.
Middle and high school students encouraged to attend! Must be accompanied by an adult.
