is proud to host its
5th Annual STEM Exposition on Thursday, March 26, 2018 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
We invite you to come judge our student's innovative projects as they develop skills for living in a Highly Technological, Knowledge-Based Society.
ESUMS’ STEM Exposition is Project-Based Learning at its finest. Students are challenged to solve highly complex problems applying both fundamental skills (reading, writing, and math) with 21st century skills (teamwork, research gathering and time management) utilizing high tech tools. With this combination of skills, students become managers of their learning process, guided and mentored by a skilled teacher.
Each year, competing teams respond to a given challenge; the 2018 theme is “A Closer Look”. We invite you, along with other industry professionals, to judge our innovative projects in six content areas: Biology, Chemistry, Entrepreneurship, Mobile App Design, and 3D Modeling. Judges will grade teams on the six critical 21st Century Skills—Information Literacy, Creativity and Innovation, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Communication and Responsible Citizenship. Team websites will be available for review on March 1st. The group with the highest aggregate score in each category will move on to compete against 40 other Connecticut high schools at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT on May 19, 2018.
