April 8th ESUMS Spring Cleaning Task List -- Choose a Task, Plan Ahead, and Bring Supplies Please!

Replace broken ceiling tiles in classrooms and halls (look to be about 2' x 3'-4').

Shampoo office carpet (will require renting machine).

Clean garbage out of unlocked lockers.

Straighten up the supply and PTO closet.

Put something nice on the bulletin board in the Cafeteria.

Clean out the microwave.

Girls' Bathroom #1 (off cafeteria):

            Install mirror or artwork over place where mirror used to be.

            Wash the walls; try to scrub off graffiti.

            Touch-up paint (light gray).

            Repair or cover small square of missing tiles near sinks and big tile hole in stall.

            Install hook & eye latches on stall doors.

            Scrape tape residue off stall door and repaint.

 Boys' Bathroom #1 (off cafeteria):

            General cleaning.

            See if toilets all work and fix if not.

            Clean graffiti.

Sweep side entryway/hallway and pick up junk.

Pick up trash outside around the building.

Pick up dropped branches out front; possibly move them to woods.

Repaint the stairway handrails with durable paint.

Paint "slide" on stairwell with rough-textured paint so it is no longer fun to slide on.

Patch and paint holes in wall on main staircase.

Sweep the stairs.

Patch or cover hole in wall behind door at the top of the stairs.

Girls' Bathroom #2 (upstairs, central)

            Replace small mirror.

            Install some soap dishes or dispensers.

            Scrub graffiti and/or paint over.

            Scrub door plates.

 Boys' Bathroom #2 (upstairs, central)

            Scrub graffiti and/or paint over.

            Cover big hole in wall (with plywood?).

            General cleaning, check toilets, deodorize.

            Scrub door plates.

 Take down out-of-date posters; neatly tape edges and corners of ripped posters.

 Ask Ms. Wasley if she'd like her door painted.

 High school wing: re-paper or put plywood over hole in wall near girls' bathroom.

 Clean the hall carpet and the carpet tile squares in the bathroom entryways (carpet machine or Woolite and vacuum?).

 Girls' Bathroom #3 (west wing)

            missing and loose floor tiles (about 2' x 2')

            Scrub floor and walls.

 Boys' Bathroom #3 (west wing)

            ** Did not visit. **

 With teachers' request and permission:

            Wash classroom windows.

            Dust and straighten up.

            Carry large trash to dumpsters.

            Clean corners where vacuums can't reach.

            Wash whiteboards and leave cleaning spray for the teacher to keep.

 Install large art-paper in the Bridge; decorate with chalk.
